Alpha, Beta, Gamma

所谓α多样性是指一个特定区域或生态系统内的多样性,经常用物种丰富度来度量;

β多样性是不同生态系统之间多样性的比较,是物种组成沿环境梯度或者在群落间的变化率,用来表示生物种类对环境异质性的反应;

Alpha diversity (α-diversity) is the biodiversity within a particular area, community or ecosystem, and is usually expressed as the Species richness of the area. This can be measured by counting the number of taxa (distinct groups of organisms) within the ecosystem (eg. familiesgeneraspecies). However, such estimates of species richness are strongly influenced by sample size, so a number of statistical techniques can be used to correct for sample size to get comparable values.
